The Czech Chamber Philharmonic, a young and dynamic orchestra, is already recognised as one of the most successful ensembles in the music-loving Czech Republic. It is a regular guest on prominent European stages, issues best-selling CDs both at home and in the United Kingdom, and presents an enormously popular cycle of Baroque concerts every month in the beautiful city of Prague.

Vojtěch Spurný, Principal Conductor

Vojtech Spurny studied at the State Conservatory Prague (flute and piano), the Academy of Music Art Prague (opera production, conducting and harpsichord) and Hogeschool de Kunsten, Utrecht (interpretation of ancient music and harpsichord). Since 1999 he has conducted many Czech and foreign symphony and chamber orchestras.

After being associated with the Czech Chamber Philharmonic for several years, Vojtech Spurny became its principal conductor in 2004. Fronting this dynamic young orchestra, he has recorded its CD series of Czech Baroque music for BMG in the Czech Republic and with his abiding interest in previously unpublished works of the l8th century Czech Masters, he continues to prepare new CDs for enthusiastic world audiences.
