Superb recording studio of these two works which marry judiciously.
A program revealing Chicago Symphony Orchestrated with at the top of its art with this its cold, considered but affirmative. Pierre Boulez delivers an interpretation refined and demanding without removing the specific power to these two masterpieces.
It in that is helped by the fantastic studio sound recording of Ulrich Vette of December 1996 which succeeds in the exploit to be at the same time spectacular, powerful, fine, detailed and honest.
Totenfeier de Mahler is a symphonic poem which was altered and slightly shortened thereafter to become the first movement of its second symphony. The sound of symphonic of Chicago also sublimates this part on a level quite higher than the second symphony of Philharmonic of Vienna directed him by Boulez.
